Wedding bells

A friend of mine (a really good friend of mine) ask me to write something about marriage recently J
Hmm..what a coincidence.
Ive attended 2 wedding functions last week. Well it is the month of weddings (May) n aramai tii. Its easy to describe the feeling when watching people getting married, esp those close to you. Sweetness, warmth, n the bonus feeling of pondering when it is your turn to walk down the aisle and exchange vows – auwwww ..so scweet, I think.
I went to 2 very different wedding receptions last week. One held glamorously in a 4 star hotel, with a nine course Chinese set menu and Chivas Regal served to the floor. Wow.
The other one was more humble and simple – yet full of love, charm and original.
The wedding ceremony was held in a cute chapel in Tuaran, then followed by a forty minutes walk to the bride house in the deep of one of Kiulu villages. The whether was quite pleasing, I guess, with slight drizzle n sunshine. Ive never been there before and couldn’t believe that we have crossed two jambatan gantung to reach the bride’s resident. I would call the walk more of a jungle trekking because of the sweat, pathways, and hanging bridges we have to pass.
My legs felt week the whole night last nite n still a bit sleepy now zzzZZZzz
But I love the whole thing. The greatest thing was, mr. fiancé was trotting behind my back the whole journey – n smiling sheepishly at me. Hmm..nanti kau.. But it felt a bit weird and surprising that he is capable of doing that , though not holding hands or anything (haha..ya right.Tan S.M,,laugh with me now eh..) May be he was afraid that I would slip and fall.hahaha. Maybe it’s the impact of the priest’s homily during the wedding ceremony previously.
The priests have expressed his feeling of don’t kasi biar2 your spouse in what ever you’re going through ( I was smiling sheepishly when the priest mentioned it). Nevertheless he also said that..when u kasi biar2 ur partner..it could only mean two things: 1) you trust ur partner in whatever they do. 2) you don’t really care much about them. O ya, the priest also admitted that he felt good when watching senior couples still holding hands when walking together. Hmm..i wonder. How many of our senior citizens still do that, WOULD DO that here..(okay people,,this is the part where u imagine urself 40 – 50 years from now,,walking with your spouse. Dont ask me ya. Tan?? Wat bout u ;)

Anyway,,im glad yesterday turn out the way it was.
CONGRATULATIONS to both bride and bridegroom. May you’ll live happily ever after..with God’s blessing.
p/s: will be going to another two aramai tiis this weekend.
Kotobian Tadau Tagazo do Kaamatan,, everyone.

The beautiful bride. My gud fren @ biras. Luv the photo effect? hehe, me too

May you'll live happily ever after :)

Together with my fiance families n the pengantin.

One of the hanging bridge. hey, its a big river below. u fall,,bye bye.

One Fine Day

"How's your day?"

"The greatest day in your life and mine is when we take total responsibility for our attitudes. That's the day we truly grow up."~John C. Maxwell
not today.
(^-*) hmm..still struggling to finish reading the book.
tummy's grumbling.

(^-^) well, if you see my YM anytime around the corner..ill be on XL. Xtra Lazee. Will be on full time leisure today - i hope.
oh yes,,so.. how's your day my friend? :)

..hmmm, just one of those days that makes you go..auwwww...and fly away to seventh heaven imagining yourself in other people's shoes..(that is after i watched this YouTube video featuring Clark Kent and Lana, of course)

A great fan of Smallville, but im not going to write a critical appreciation of the series here. Its just that after watching the video, it makes you think.
What would you do if you were their place? :/ kind of sad to see the episodes grow..and change..not as we would hope it to be.

Anyway, id like to share this very touching video of one of the most loveable couple -onscreen. To the creator of this video..you rock! Its just so touching. and im sure everybody can relate the song and clips in some parts of their life. I think you just made realized one very important thing in life ;)

Okay people,,ill still be bouncing on cloud nine..enjoy the video ya :)
I Couldn't Ask For More.
I really shouldn't be asking for more..i realized that.
But should be giving more.
Love your life people..appreciate the people who loved you, and you could never ask for more.

Lying here with you, listening to the rain.
Smiling just to see a smile upon your face.
And these are the moments I'll remember all my life.
I found all I've waited for and I could not ask for more.
Looking in your eyes, seeing all I need.
Girl, I think you are it's everything to me.
These are the moments I know heaven must exist.
These are the moments I know all I need is this.
I have all I've waited for and I could not ask for more.

I could not ask for more than this time together.
I couldn't ask for more that this time with you.
Every breath has been answered. Every dream that has come through.
Yeah, right here in this moment, it's that we're all meant to be.
(Oh) here with you, here with me.

And these are the moments I thank God that I'm alive.
And these are the moments I'll remember all my life.
I've got all I've waited for and I could not ask for more.

[Repeat Reff]

I could not ask for more than the love you gave me
cos it's all I've waited for.
And I could not ask for more.
Not sure what it is with sunsets.
But it really set things apart.
I have been fascinated with sunsets since the day i know how to spell the word ;)
Sunrise is beautiful..but sunsets are magnificent and just magic.
I guess its something like Adam and Eve. Wihout one another, there will be none of anything.
If you're down and drown with the worldly pressures, watch the sunset and let everything be washed by the setting rays.
If you're happy, watch the sunset. You will suddenly realized its not that hard to smile and forget things that makes you frown.
I capture sunsets nowadays. Just to cherish it over and over again. :)
Hope you like the pictures.
o ya, one of the nicest song that relates sunsets with ourlives is this one by Linkin Park - Shadow of the Day.
Love it very much as well. Means a lot.
What do you think..
I close both locks below the window.
I close both blinds and turn away.
Sometimes solutions aren't so simple.
Sometimes goodbye's the only way.
And the sun will set for you,
And the sun will set for you.
And the shadow of the day,
Will embrace the world in grey,
And the sun will set for you.
In cards and flowers on your window,
Your friends all plead for you to stay.
Sometimes beginnings aren't so simple.
Sometimes goodbye's the only way.
Witnessing the last sunset in 2007 at Tanjung Aru beach. Time 5 pm++

When the sea was finally getting dark..n the sun set. Time 6pm++

I took all the pictures here using a handphone. so not a very sharp composition. but still loved the result very much.

A sun setting as we took our meal at Anjung Selera in Likas. I would still say that the best place to watch the sun sets is at Tanjung Aru - perfect.

A man trying to capture the Likas sunset with his camera - well,,i caught him first ;)

Little Fin

Finally, one of my new year's resolution comes to life and materialized.
Finally, bestowed with the skill and ability of swimming (^_^) that is after a couple of unforgiving 'kick kick kick' session in the pool.
I guess i owe everything to my friends who came up with the idea of learning how to swim - just in case the tsunami strikes again. My friends and i got ourselves a coach at the Likas swimming pool and attended lessons for a mere 8 times. One valuable tip we learned from the coach - "eat more bananas girls - then u hv the energy".
Nearly giving up because of the strenous kicking a.k.a swimming and breathing difficulties.
But, fearing the tsunami ;) and desire to challenge oneself, keeps us going,,well..keeps at least the three of us going - there were 5 of us at the start.
I have to mention that the thing we enjoy the most (other than the free flow of pool water - yakkss) , is the feast of food that we have after each lesson - hahaha,, talk about burning the calorie..we actually double our calorie to 'replenish' our lost energy. Anyway, for me, the best thing to gain is more self confidence and realized that a dream is not just a dream.
Its not that easy to wear a swim suit (even a modest one) in public (nod with me people..). But i overcome that feeling when i saw everyone can do it..why cant i? (^_^) And my dream of snorkelling in the sea with my beloved partner can be done anytime now. He has even given me the green light that its fine for me to swim and snorkell with him now if I want - which I cant wait to do!! No more hanging and floating behind his back this time hahaha.
Im glad.
Im glad im able to swim now, though not as professional as we were thought during lessons - my coach refers my swim style as the kampung style. Well kampung or not, the important thing is that i can swim. An all this mean one thing for me - a new found leisure activity and interest that i can share with my friends and my dear fiance.
People..we can do anything we want.
99% perspiration (ingat senang ka mau kick3) and 1% inspiration for me (please dont correct me)
My recent swim out was at the Tun Fuad Water World with my fiance - we went there twice within one and a half week. hmmm..got the feeling that we will be repeat and loyal customers to this place ;)
Its a nice cozy place. Small scale, big pool, O K A Y lah. be thankful with what we have ma..
Anybody going there any time soon - please..bring me along hahaha

The big pool. Mushroom shower tower :) Hit the water now people while listening to Rod Stewart..Have i Told You Lately..?? hahaha..boleh ba kalu kauu

Mr Fiance taking a shade from the sun under the wet mushroom - be tapuk kunun.

Thanks for reading my blog people..love ya.

Ahhh..my swim mates. Your the best!! (at the Likas swimming pool - after sunset)

Where I Grew Up

A place that i would dearly missed as home.
Neverending blue sky and sea.
Tanjung Aru.
I remember the time my sisters and i used to jog and spend evening leisure time at this peaceful place, for we lived just close by this oh - so common beach. No extravagant restaurants, no countless number of satay or chicken wings stall..just a few gerai of fruits, foods, n okay..a beach wont be a beach without any satay or chicken wings..n of cos the famous kacang rebus (^_^)
Humble and original - as my memory tells me of the now crowded n 'happening' place in Tanjung Aru.
Hmmph - i prefer it the way it used to be (call me sentimental..nostalgic, if you want)
Well,, we could never turn back time.
As beautiful as the beach was.. im still proud to say that this place still holds a special place inside everyone's heart for its unfaded beauty.
I once took a picture here - with the sea as the background.
None of my friends could guess where i took the picture.
So sad.
Nobody thought that the ever so common beach could be as beautiful as it is.
The moral lesson?
Im not sure..maybe its in the way we look at things.
May be its just me being overly sentimental.
May be..its just the beach, being her self.
A common beauty, forgotten yet loved by many.
Haha..okay stop the poetic phrases.
Im glad to still be able going here and watch the sunsets, walk under the stars ( i still couldnt belive i did that) and simply appreciate mother nature - I simply adore the sea which my fiance finds hard to understand! hahaha, lets not talk about men now.
Lets hit the beach now!
I took this picture a few weeks ago in the hot afternoon sun (^_^) crazy?

These walls may look tough, but not as tough as the waves when they're in the hit - the - beach mood.
I was trying very hard to focus on the sailing ships - notice the sun's reflections..very hot..

A skill that im still trying to be good at - taking pictures.

I didnt notice the little kid watching the ships from afar.

Later in the evening, a couple of brides were taking some wedding pictures in the park. I managed to grab my camera and did my part of the clicking - haha

What do you think?

Simply Tanjung Aru

The sands might not be as white as those in Bora Bora or Langkawi - but it is what makes it IT.
