Not Just A New Year

It's a few days before the new year and i feel ever so guilty for not updating anything here..
especially when i noticed that a few comments kept dropping by in my last post - O Christmas Tree.
Thank you very much for the visit n comments ya
The silence doesn't mean it's unappreciated.

A lot of happenings since pre Christmas had been pushing me to write and share with everyone..
but gosh..i just couldn't find the momentum.

Hopefully this coming new year will bring me right back on track
and be the blogger i should be
. . . . . . . . . . . . .

O yes..something is up for everyone i'm sure in the coming year of the Rabbit :)
As a wise man says:
"An optimist stays up until midnight to see the New Year in.
A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves."
Let' us all be the optimist that we are.

Happy New Year everyone..
It's not just a new year..it's a whole new period of time for us to begin anew n continue this walk on earth.
wow..hehe
I'll be staying in this new years eve..making sure everyone steps together to 2011.
Meanwhile..if you're celebrating it outdoor..have fun..
and please read the message below ya.. hehe

(brought to you by Google search)

O Christmas Tree

All over the city, shopping complexes are painted with red, green and golden themed ornaments and decor.
It's Christmas!!
Having read Chegu Carol and few other bloggers on their Christmas preparation makes me wonder if i should put up a Christmas tree at home.
Anyway..if i really decided to put up one.. i hope its going to be something like..
THiS:
nyehehehehe..nda la ba giant sangat mcm ni. mana la muat rumah ku yg kici.
but the idea of decorating a Christmas tree with teddy bears???
o wow..its my first time seeing this.
Cantik kn.
ok ok..hehe..where can you find this Christmas tree?
It's standing perfectly at the Karamunsing shopping complex.
Lama da tak jalan2 di sana..sekali masuk ..
i was really2 amazed.
This is truly unique.
O yes. And you can walk underneath the tree as well.
Look at that.
The Christmas tree is actually combined with a few nicely decorated stalls ..so the tree is like a gigantic roof top. Simply woW.
hmm..i think i know what i need now.
(^_^)
nc says: sebenar nya.. persediaan utk hari Christmas yg sebenar adalah terletak dlm hati kita. itu yg paling penting kn. Christmas adalah peringatan utk kita ttg Kasih dan mengapa kita di lahir kn. (eseh...be khutbah laini..)
Tapi.. kalau ada hiasan2 sampingan.. tambah meriah.. hehe.. aramai tiiiiii (^_^)
If you're a fan of fantasy and fairy tale..don't miss this movie for anything.
i repeat - ANYTHiNG.

Having just experienced Narnia just now..it feels amazing how it seems that i too (ceh..kunun)..was brought back to Narnia. ok ok..allow me to give you THREE good reasons WHY you SHOULD watch Narnia 3.

Reason 1:
Ben Barnes.
i mean..King Caspian.
If you've watched the previous Narnia 2 movie, you'll understand what i mean. hehe
Yep, he's in the third movie as well.

Reason 2:

A S L A N
The great leader of the land in his solemn and pure greatness.
Sometimes it makes us wonder the real 'function' of Aslan's role..
"why isn't he helping the kids?..why does he let it all happen? Where is he?
Why isn't he there in time of danger?"
...sound familiar?
of course.
You know the answers.
A preview of Aslan's country - beyond the waves.

Reason 3:

Eustace.
The kids cousin who was accidentally dragged to Narnia.
A non believer of fantasy, fairy tales and dragons..

Until he became one.

A real spit-fire hero.
And guess what, ( i don't mean to spill the beans..but,)..boy Eustace will be the continuing hero of the next and next and perhaps till the Last Battle of Narnia.

bah..cukup laini. Kamu gi tengok sendiri a.
tpi jn tgk 3D..mcm rugi.
best lagi tengok teda pakai tu cermin mata. balik2 mau jatuh.
n tidak berapa menonjol ba 3D efek dia.
ada bnyk part teda 3D efek pun.
bulih2 sa inda pakai tu cermin mata.
cis.

nc says: i want to name my cat Aslan. bulih kah. (^_^)
o ya, ALL pictures are courtesy of Narnia..eh,, Googles.

Ok, the official trailer

And here's a preview of the previous two Narnia movies (if you haven;t watched it)..with one of my favourite soundtrack in the movie: No Need To Say Goodbye.

Annieming Christmas Giveaway

It's been a while since the last post.
There are so many stories to share..but, ...
will post about it soon.

. . . . . . . . . . .

This post is dedicated to Annieming
for the Christmas Giveaway.

Hehe..i decided to put up this one for the giveaway picture.
Harap2 itu santa hat boleh kena pakai ramai2 ba kn..mcm itu rabbit2 dlm gmbr..hehe

It's actually a little sundry shop that sells rabbits at the same time. Located in the Asia City street shops.
Taken late last year. Time masih muda sikit. hahaha

If only i could have one of those rabbits!!

nc says: this is one of the best giveaway i have ever joined. kalau tak menang pun tak apa.
It's to support a friend and in the glowing spirit of Christmas :)
Merry Christmas semua..

This, made my day today.
A certificate of appreciation for being part of the Borneo Bloggers Award
which was organized by Borneo Colours, just last October.
Have been waiting for the mail man to hand me this actually.heheh

Thank you Borneo Colours for organizing a great event for the bloggers in Borneo
and Thank You to Daniel Doughty for giving us the appreciation.
Now i have another memorabilia to 'show off' (pinjam ayat si Wyne dlu hehe), courtesy of Borneo Colours.
uiks..mahal ba ni tandatangan ni .. :)
Though the certificate arrived a little bit crumpled in the mail..(odoi gia..) it is still priceless.

By the way..have you read the Finalists Special Interview in Borneo Colours?
All finalists were asked a few questions regarding the blog scene and what we think about it.
I've done mine. We were all given a different sets of questions.
Well...there's this ONE question..
that i would like to share with you..and to hear your response as well.
Not towards my answer though..but your opinion. :)
Come on..let's put our heads together and we might share valuable thoughts here.
Here's the question:

Describe to us in your own words, what is the main problem when starting a new blog.
A new blog is very easy to create. You only have to register and..sometimes..that is iT, for some people. They do not know what to write. Finding materials to write about would be one of the challenge of a new blog. But then, if a blogger realized his/her purpose starting the blog..everything will fall into places.
(my answer)

The Perfect Christmas Gift

Yes.
I have announced it in my other blog..
and i am going to put more juicy details here.
But first..allow me to state that..it is not a shop that is mine.
Rather..thanks to this unique concept store, a lot of people can display and rent spaces to promote their work.
hehe..bagus bah..kn?
And so..the name of the shop that i managed to get hold a little space is..the Dream House.
It's located at the Megalong shopping mall, Donggongon.
A place that one should visit.
It's the longest mall in Sabah.

If you are searching for the perfect Christmas gift this year..
why not have a look of what iHaveADream Creations has to offer.
hehe..it's from the heart.

Merry Christmas everyone..
Let's decorate our hearts with joy of the Lord and share the Christmas love with everyone.

The Balance of LiFe

I've lost another cat. Yesterday. Mysteriously. Again. Gone with the wild.
Taken by the wild? Nobody knows.
S a d.
That's the family fourth cat that's has mysteriously disappeared from our home.
. . . .
My laptop - hangus. Motherboard hancur - they said.
I dare not switch it on again.
For five faithful years it's been with me.
Never having any problem, except for a few inescapeable formatting job.
(please don't ask how the heaven i managed to make THiS entry now)

The thought of Karma and the balance of life hit me, in the midst of this.
My white cat. Gone, disappear just like that.
Is it just sooo a coincidence that my father shot a white crane (bangau bah) near by our home yesterday, and that the body still hang on top of a tree this morning.
(otiru no monimbak ii tapa..nga..everyone at home was unhappy)
Bad karma?
Coincidence?
Doesn't matter now.
I could not even show a picture of our precious putih since motherboard is down and hancur.
I had a chat with a relative a few days before..of getting a new and smaller laptop.
Since the weight of the current one is killing my back.
And now..
I don't know.
W H A T

nc says: putih was the name of our cat. Coincidently, three newborn kittens join the clan a few weeks ago.
And one of them was as white as snow. Putih.

A gift from the blogging experts..and i would like to share this with you, my faithful readers and followers.
Comments.
O yeahh..we cannot deny that the comments that our readers leave in each entry of our post motivates us to write more..and better. And sometimes the comments is the ultimate objective of one to keep on blogging.
Don't.
But if comments are what you are after..then hear this.
There are few reasons actually on why readers will NOT leave their comments on your posts.

From the mind of a Successful & Outstanding Blogger.http://www.successful-blog.com/
1. What you write is so complete, that I don’t know what to say except good job. I feel silly writing that, so I read and move on.

2. You’ve taught me something I didn’t know, and I need to think about it before I even have a question. Much like number 1, I don’t want to embarrass myself. I’m better off moving on.

3. I get ready to type a comment, but I notice you only respond to a few friends who mostly share inside jokes. I won’t take the risk of being overlooked in public.

4. The folks who comment on your posts like to argue and I don’t. I’m not sure I’m brave enough to fight my way into the crowd.

5. You rarely respond to comments. So, there’s no point in writing one.

6. Your blog has geeky attitude and I’m not geeky enough to keep up

 7. I really like your blog and your post, but I’m too tired, busy, or any one of a number things that you can’t control. I’ll comment the next I come back to read.

8. You end your posts with a giant general question like “What do you think of the Big Bang Theory?” That question is such a big one. I don’t have time to answer it. I feel strange answering with a lesser comment.

9. You put up a fence by making me login to comment. I have too many passwords already and I don’t know you well enough to add one to my list.

10. Your content wasn’t fresh and exciting, and I couldn’t find anything YOU inside it. It seemed the same post that I’ve read on 10 other blogs. If I commented, I would have to tell you that.
  • PLUS ONE: Your post was negative. Negative is scary. Most folks don’t like negative stuff, because they know they could be next to be the recipient. I don’t comment, because I don’t want to be part of it

nc says: angguk2..geleng2..(^-^)..
(my kitten2 which keep me company all the time)
don't worry..i'm not expecting you to drop any comments on this post..not even because of any of the 10 reasons above. hehe..for me..it's a personal choice. What about you? hehe
But if you really want to improve your blog and engage your reader attention - then, this post might inspire you.
Good luck :)

A Foxie Boutique

It's the grand opening of a good friend's boutique today.
Located at the ground floor of the Star City Complex, one can never missed it, as the boutique is painted in red with an eye catching fox in the boutique's sign board.

I have to salute and congratulate these foxy ladies for materializing their dream of having their own business.
I hope i can follow their foot steps in the future.
*finger finger crossing*
The boutique sells ladies attires and accesories. Cute and cheeky.
Just like the taukehs. heheh..
Price wise..competitive.
Highly recommended.
Me with the foxy ladies of the boutique.
I was not able to take much pictures that moment.
I ran out of battery charges.
But pictures will never be enough for me to describe what Foxie Boutique has in store.
You need to be there.
Now i know where to get my dresses for wedding wedding and dinner dinner invitations this December.
*wink!

nc says: sambil2 tolong kawan2 promosi bah.. :)
..just want to share with you what i have learned from the B2.0 event.

"It's easier to create a new blog than to maintain one"
A true point to ponder for all bloggers shared by one of the speakers of the B2.0 event.

hmm..true indeed.

"Blogging will never die as long as we do this three things:
1. Inspire
2. Inform
3. Interact
..in the blogosphere."
..quoting Mr Addy Kho , a blogger who specializes in e-commerce, eBay, and affiliate marketing..
One of the speakers for the B2.0.

I hope i have inspired you.

..i had fun.
But no more club or pub scene, please..hehe.
catch more pictures at.. iHaveADream Creations.

nc says: the Boutique Cupcake was adorable. I almost want to just KEEP iT as a souvenir.
Finally.
The BiG event that all borneo bloggers have been waiting for..took place at the 1Borneo Hypermall Grand Ballroom, yesterday the 29th October 2010.
I missed my college inter college sports event.. to be part of the fantastic families of the borneo bloggers.
Which means..it was worth it. hehe..

Entering the hall with no clue of how everything was going to be..was the first step.
The minute i stepped in..i was greeted with a smile by the Borneo Colours team and presented me with the tag above. O yeah..hehe.. FiNALiST was an awesome way to be introduced to everyone.
And..thnkfully..i was seated next to pretty mummy Wyne who saw me at the entrance looking clueless.
Deanona of Bloggie Doggie, Yoshi Yoshi (hehe) a BC buddy, and Arti Rahmma and Dwi Wahyudi of Blogger Borneo from Kalimantan was on the opposite row.
WoW.

But of course..the man behind the inspirational Borneo Colours - Mr Daniel Doughty, who made us feel at ease and soooo casual at such a grand event.
Tapi..gambar nya agak jauh ya (bunyi ala2 Indonesia accent a..)..hehe
All speakers were amazing.
From the topic of blog monetization, personal branding and media social engagement..lessons were learnt.
And i am so eager to go on to the next step of the blogging world..making it quite a serious business?
WHY NOT. I'm glad i know what to do next. O yess.
See the great lines of speakers below..
..i know i know..you could hardly see them. hahaha..sorry..i was really not armed by any super power camera that time. But i assure you, they were great gurus who's willing to share so many tips, advice in their blogging experiences. You can always surf the BorneoColours page to get to know them better.hehe
Meanwhile..the pictures below..are the Top Blogger of Borneo finalists that i managed to be with.
Standing: Arti Rahmma,
Sitting (L-R): Bloggie Doggie, iHaveADream Creations, Sorbet13s
I was seated with these great lady.. and a great man who took this picture ahaha..
L-R: Wyne and MelissaLim

O yes,,introducing..(below) the boys who were 'mixing with the right people'..hehe..quoting Mr Cyril Dason of Sarawak Bloggers..snapping their pictures while 'lunching'. Mr Eddie Law of LawEddie.com said it was OK as long it was my own camera and the people know your going to published it. hehehe..
People..blogging is fun. But always be aware of the legal side of it ya..if not..jaga jaga..
Now i KNoW.
Okay, L- R are Mr Addy Kho of AddyKho.com, Mr Cyril Dason of Sarawak Bloggers, Mr Eddie Law, a lawyer who has his own blog, and Mr Dwi Wahyudi of Kalimantan.
The finalists in the second picture.
And..bloggers in the third picture.
What?

nc says: its going to be the award and party nite tonite at Sam Tsui, a new club in KK Time Square.
Not really hoping for anything special ..but..there better be some goodies for all..EHEM..cewah :)

The 3D Experience

O yess. I finally had the opportunity to watch a 3D movie.
It all happened last week when i brought my group of students to experience a 3D entertainment at 2.oo in the afternoon..and..ermm..as part of their subject research actually - to make it formal. Mana lagi mau cari lecturer yg sudi bawa student2 ny pgi tingu movie sama2..ha.. hehe..pastu makan sama2 n ambi2 gmbr lagi ( ^_^) - during class time of course.
The surrounding environment is full of things that are awaiting to be discovered.
Instead of just talking..DO iT.

Well,, here we go. There were not any major box office 3D movies showing  this particular period. So we're left with this environment friendly movie - Sammy's Adventure. The students were a bit reluctant when knowing they're going to watch an animated movie. But then, there must a good reason why this movie was in 3D. So..we begin our little afternoon adventure, going for Sammy's Adventure.
WeeeeeeeeeEEEE.... :)

It all turn out not GooD..but GREAT!!
Being in the premiere 3D movie hall in Suria Shopping Mall was already a major advantage, as not many people have really set foot in this place. Semua tatap dan berpencen di center point n 1 Borneo bah.

Everybody was looking great in their 3D glasses. ..Sa pun nda mau ketinggalan bah..
Hehe..proudly showing off the 3D glasses and ticket.
My first impression..there was nothing special about the 3D glasses,, except that it was a bit thick.
Movie time: wOWwwwwwww...
I forgot how many time i've WOWWWWW at the movie screen with the glasses on.
It was simply fantastic. To the eyes, to the surrounding..and like everyone said..it's as if it's right in front of your face. No doubt now.
What happen when you take off the glasses and try to watch it like a normal movie..?
You can't.
There will be 3 blurry image of each object in the movie. Perhaps that's the 3 dimension..right?
So..glasses on.
Relax..and enjoy the beautiful beautiful underwater panorama in Sammy's Adventure.
Now i understand why it's in 3D.
You would feel like swimming with Sammy.
Who's Sammy? You've got to watched it to appreciate it.
3D
Spot the lecturer.

Well..being an educator has a lot of advantages.
No matter how old you feel.. you'll always be young at heart, because you're surrounded by the young ones. No matter how old a student they are.. you'll always be the wiser one, because you have the wisdom.

nc says:
Okay..the trailer and sypnosis..
"Sammy, a sea turtle, hatches on a deserted beach and tries to climb out of the hole where he hatched. Being caught by a seagull, he struggles for his life and manages to escape, as the seagull clashes in the air with a another seagull, also carrying its prey, who turns out to be a female hatchling sea turtle, Shelly."..and pretty much.. its where a love story and adventure of a lifetime begins.
Yes!! I am soo inspired by the Green Connection and will be volunteering there soon!

The Green Connection, located at Mile 2 Jalan Tuaran (near Wisma Wanita) is actually an Aquarium and Science Discovery Centre that offers a lot of educational programme and expose the community to the importance of conservation of the marine life.
whoa..was that heavy? hehe..
It's a place where we can learn, touch, see and understand about the awesome marine life that we have here..in Sabah. Entrance is rm15 per person.  I went there with my students, so urm..its ehEm..complimentary - as usual.
If only i have the guts to dive..i'll be feeding off fishes and sting rays..instead of cats and dogs..haha
The picture above is the main attraction of the site: a big aquarium that has a variety of marine life - including 3 beautiful sharks and a very big turtle. biG. (i'm just amazed bah)
hmm..perhaps i could volunteer in the future on presenting the infos to the visitors. *gulp* kunun..
Need to get close, up and personal first with a lot of text book before doing this.hehe
One of the three beautiful sharks. It's very hard for me to get a picture of them with my super slow camera.
But their movement and grandeur never fail my eyes.
Some of the display at the Green Connection where visitors can touch and see first hand the wonderful sea creatures. Not me though..especially on the horseshoe crab@ belangkas. Would you?
Ah...these fellas were also amazing. These are found in our Kinabatangan river. Tapi sa pun tak pasti ikan apa..very big..and with a small hump on its head. Berabis mau ambil gmbr dorang. You can see my reflection in the tank.hahah..
Do you know that the sharks we have today are the evolution and transformation from the one we had thousand of years ago? Aha! there iS one very unique shark in the Green Connection big tank that everybody has to see to believe. Almost like a hammerhead shark. But with a triangular feature. Anybody..?raise ur hand please if u have seen that kind of shark. I was not able to take a  picture of it as it was always moving around during the fish feeding show.
Well..no pictures, no real shark?
Get one of those cute stuff marine life with you.
You will never find any of the stuff animals in their gift shop, any where.
And...some of the great happenings during the tour. Ain't that a beautiful sting ray?
I am inspired. And i want to be part of the great team of the Green Connection.
It's the animal instinct in me speaking, i guess.
You can help too by being a volunteer and spread the importance of marine life conservation.

nc says: Fact of the day: Love eating garoupa? Do you know that babies garoupa are all born male and some will turn into female when they hit maturity. Most of the giant garoupa are males, the one that we love to catch n eat. So that makes the female garoupa having no males to make babies with. They could live up to 67 years old.
so..no babies garoupa = less garoupa = no garoupa.

The BloG MakeOver

Tadaa...
Not so brand new, but a brand new attitude that is.
A blog make over or changing of template to my precious Yours Sincerely has never occured to me.
It all started with just wanting to create a new header for my blog.
But then it turned into THiS.

Going back to basic with plain white and less pictures and widgets.
LeSS iS MoRe.
Holding on always to that principle.

Too white n plain makes it boring?
Add a Blog's Mood to your blog to create a paint of color and mood of course.
I think my falling maple leaves did the job, hehe

Btw, hop on to my other blog..and you'll understand how and why i have fallen for a blog makeover craze.

nc says: some people ask me whether it's not tiring and tough to have 2 blogs?
Nope. because, its a pleasure :)
Let's go now.

On a hill far away..

"..stood an old rugged cross..
the emblem of suffering and pain
and i love that old cross where the dearest and best
for a world of lost sinners was slain.."

(^_^)
Have you ever seen this church?
Beautiful isn't it.
It really is on a hill far far away from the city.
One of the most unique design and architecture of a church in Kota Kinabalu.
Don't you agree?

Why the fallen cross, u said?
Perhaps it is to remind us that Christ carried the cross for us.
Will be visiting the place soon.

Meanwhile..
lets continue with the lyric of the song..and you try to guess where exactly can you find this church ya :)

"So I'll cherish the old rugged cross,
till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
and exchange it some day for a crown."

nc says: i love this song very much..mari kita berdoa..

Mari Mandi Sungai

I've done so much during the recent school holidays and will be blogging one story at a time about it hehe..
One week of unpaid leave was worth it - for a quality time spending with my beloved ones.. and also taking time to decor decor our new home..hehe..nda pandai siap2 ni...the excitement come and go..hmm..will only blog about it..perhaps later in life - haha..kidding.
Money can't buy Time. But i'm willling to bargain..hehe

Right..the best part of balik kampung mentua that i like will have to be mandi sungai.
who doesn't?
err..(^_^)

Mi hubbi refused to take me to a public swimming pool everytime,
"bagus lagi mandi sungai," dia bilang.
ok bah bos..
so..to the little sungai we went..back at his home, and down hill..down..down hill. Where u need to go up up hill first before reaching the kampung.
And this time.. he brought me to a new trail. Funny how everytime we go mandi sungai.. ada sja jalan baru dia kasi tunjuk ni.. and THiS time..across the green paddy field.
Amazing.
As i have never walked or touched a sawah (paddy field) before. seriously.
Kesian kn..
A little cousin tag along  to "andi ungai.."- dia bilang.
The river is just in front of the paddy field.
Beautiful..isn't it.
I was left behind as i was busy taking pictures (with my Nokia only).
The best part was jumping from one level of sawah to another..i felt like i was in one of the Jackie Chan movie that has paddy field in one of the scene. Hehe..don't remember the title though..

And the river view from just nearby our home.
Once you hear the rushing water.. you feel like you want to dip in ASAP.
Notice the water level? It's soo little now actually compared to the yesteryears..according to my family. Perhaps its the drought that caused it. But i sheepishly felt thankful.. as the water level is just nice to have a cool dip and never has the risk of drowning? hehe..especially for young kids.

And..we're there.
What a peaceful sight.
It's one of the hidden jewel of this small kampung.
A treasured spa and relaxation avenue only for the exclusive..haha..
There are a lot of spots along the river where u can have a nice dip and forget about everything.

And this time..it is HERE.

nc says: will be coming back for more.
