R i O : i luve luve BLu

Oooo..how i just fell in love with Blu and Jewel from the animated movie RiO :)
One of the newest animation in show biz and its fill with sambaaaaaaa..

Had fun watching it yesterday with my students..as part of their leisure activity.
Plus..they (my students) managed to get me a discounted rate for the ticket. hehehe.. rm5 ja sa byar. aiseh.. siok nya.. tingu wayang baru, bayar murah2. hehehehe

This movie would be great in 3D.
Luv all the songs.. the view of Rio de Janeiro.. and the Christ Redeemer statue that makes you want to step in and join the carnival in Rio. atukkkoi...

The movie..
"Set in the magnificent city of Rio de Janeiro and the lush rainforest of Brazil, the comedy-adventure centers on Blu, a rare macaw who thinks he is the last of his kind. When Blu discovers there’s another — and that she’s a she — he leaves the comforts of his cage in small town Minnesota and heads to Rio. But it’s far from love at first sight between the domesticated and flight-challenged Blu and the fiercely independent, high-flying female, Jewel. Unexpectedly thrown together, they embark on an adventure of a lifetime, where they learn about friendship, love, courage, and being open to life’s many wonders."

yeahhh...it's all about birds!!
And the stars?
Parrots (macaw).
Not just any kind of parrots though..it's a Hyacinth macaw.
Yep, i've done my research.

TaDaaaaaaaa

the Hyacinth macaw.
The real Blu. hehe

Here's a few beautiful facts about them:
The Hyacinth Macaw is 100 cm (3.3 ft) long from the tip of its tail to the top of its head.
1.2–1.7 kg in weight.
Male and female have identical external appearances.
Their strong beaks are even able to crack coconuts, the large brazil nut pods and macadamia nuts.
The beak pressure can easily disassemble a welded wrought iron cage bar by bar in a very short time.
The Hyacinth Macaw is an endangered species due to over collection for the cage bird trade and habitat loss.
It's the biggest of the macaw species and the most intelligent.

Andd...if you want to make them as pets...
Don't forget to teach them how to fly ;)

Here's a clip of the first 2 minutes of the movie. Fantastic. Great music.
